The Cure - BloodFlowers - Bloodflowers Lyrics

1. Bloodflowers  - from BloodFlowers LP. At the time the LP was released, this was supposed to be the last Cure album. I saw this song like "the swan-song" of The Cure. Last track of the last album. Sort of  "save the best for last" song.

It's a dialog between two lovers, the optimistic (her) and the pessimistic (him), the battle between never" and "ever". This song can very well be the concept behind The Cure. The dream, the time, the wave, the sun, the flowers, the world, the feeling, the night  the tide are the symbols of all that we live for in this earth and they represent the beauty of this world. When everyone of these symbols will fade, then life will not be worth living. The final opposition between love(life) and blood(death) ends this song in a very depressive and hopeless universe.

The Cure - More than rare / The Crow OST - Burn Lyrics

2. Burn - this song can be found on More than rare LP - containing songs from The Cure that were not included on their other albums- but can be found also on the original soundtrack of the movie The Crow- the first movie with Brandon Lee. The tragic thing is Brandon dying during the shooting of this movie - they were refilming the scene where he falls through the glass roof, into the chamber where all the bad guys were gathered. When they started shooting, from one of the guns started spraying real bullets.

The Cure - Disintegration - Love Song Lyrics

3. Love Song - from Disintegration LP. This here is the most simple and most powerful way to say "I love you" to someone. Simple words but damn effective. Portraying a love that will last forever no matter time and space. I think this is rock gothic's number one love song.

Ending Words: The Cure is first of all a "cult" band. One of the first and best of gothic rock. The voice of Robert Smith is not matched by anyone in it's sadness, disappear, desolation, loneliness. The lyrics are incredibly natural and yet very atmospheric. The use of many cold instruments makes The Cure one of the best rock gothic bands ever.
